Radius Turn-by-Turn Directions (RD)

Overview

Telecommunicators can provide turn-by-turn directions to assist callers and Field Responders in reaching specific locations, particularly in emergencies where accurate directions to hospitals or safe zones are crucial. 

How to Use Turn-by-Turn Directions

Turn-by-Turn Directions can be utilized in 2 ways:

1. Turn-by-Turn Directions icon from the Map Toolbar
   1. Searching for the Starting Point and Destination from the Turn-by-Turn Directions panel on the map toolbar.
   2. Clicking on the Starting Point and Destination on the map when using the Turn-by-Turn Direction panel from the map toolbar.
2. Selecting the Starting Point from the Location time

1. Click on the Turn-by-Turn Directions icon from the Map Toolbar to open the “Turn-by-Turn Directions panel”.
2. The “Starting Point” and “Destination” can be set by searching for a location
3. Or selecting a location by clicking on the Radius Map, and using the “Set starting point” and “Set destination” buttons.
   
    

The Directions map pop-up can be docked/undocked, collapsed/expanded or closed using the below icons.

1. 3Once the “Starting point” and “Destination” have been selected, the Turn-by-Turn Directions will show on the Radius Map and in the Turn-by-Turn Directions panel.
2. The “Starting Point” and “Destination can be reversed by selecting the “Switch start and destination” icon to the left.
3. If needed, the “Clear” button can be used to clear the Starting Point and Destination.
    
4. The Turn-by-Turn Directions panel will provide a Summary, which includes:
   - Travel Time
   - ETA: Estimated time of arrival
   - Distance: in miles
5. The Directions section of the pane includes:
   - Send to Mobile icon: When clicked will open the “Send Directions modal” and after entering or confirming the phone number, send an SMS message to the caller or field responder with the destination link, allowing them to use the navigation options from their mobile device.
